Year 3

Welcome to Year 3

Dear all Y3 pupils,

Unfortunately, this is not how we wanted the last week of our time together in Y3 to be. We had planned a fun last week with a wide range of activities. Sadly, we can’t do these, but we have put together a few ideas that you can do this week if you choose to.

Monday- Literacy – Either pick a story we have read together, or make up your own and create a comic strip – tell the story through images and speech bubbles.

Maths – Summer Activity Number 1

Tuesday – Literacy- Choose a story we have read this year and design your own book cover. An extension could be to write a blurb for the story.

Maths- Summer Activity Number 2

Wednesday – Literacy- Write an acrostic poem (where the first letter of each line spells out a word). An idea could be SUMMER HOLIDAY, or you could choose your own. Don’t forget to include powerful adjectives.

Maths – Summer Activity Number 3

Thursday –The children in school won't be doing very much work at all on the last day, so it's only fair that you have a relaxed day too! If you really want to do some school work, have a look through your books and finish off any pieces of work that you didn't complete or do any corrections that need doing.

Enjoy the summer holidays and we look forward to catching up with you in September.

Autumn term 2020-2021

This term, due to Covid-19, our topics and homework have change slightly.  For more information, please click on the link below:

To find out about the topics that we will be covering this year, please see the document below.

Extra Information:

Year 3 will have PE/Games lessons on Thursdays. Please make sure your child has appropriate PE kit with them on the right days, particularly extra layers for when the weather turns colder as lessons could still be outside if it is dry.

Please make sure your child has their reading book and diary with them everyday. Reading diaries will be collected in every Wednesday to monitor the frequency of home reading. We really appreciate your support with this.
